Zula plays at Pehrspace
While I was studying in Amsterdam in 2002 I spent an evening with an east coast based musician named Henry. We talked and listened to different music. He gave me his cd, “Yes Means Yes,” which I still have to this day, and I made him an mp3 mix cd. When I found out his band Zula, would be playing in at Pehrspace in LA, I knew I had to go.

I’ve been listening to so much electronic music lately that it was a refreshing change to hear a band, especially one as polished as Zula. You can tell these guys are friends and love playing music together. Thanks for the show!

B-RAD’s Birthday Party
My friend B-RAD’s girlfriend threw him a surprise party at Pins and Needles, a private pinball arcade in the upstairs of an hourly rehearsal warehouse in Echo Park. Richie T gave a bunch of sharecuts, here are a few of them.
Dinner House M | Stones Throw
While I was on the Spoke(n) Art Ride in NELA a little birdie told me Peanut Butter Wolf was going to play at Dinner House M and I should get there before a certain time to guarantee safe (free) entry. So I mashed it from Eagle Rock to Echo Park using a couple shortcuts and made it in 24 minutes, 6 minutes to spare to lock up and get in. After I listened to a new Stones Throw band’s debut performance (gotta get the name of that band) and shot these photos I mashed it to Sawtelle and Sepulveda from Club M in 46 minutes. I didn’t have time to stay for Peanut Butter Wolf‘s set, but I heard it was great as usual.
Around Echo Park
Shues and I had the day off so we biked around the city. We met up in downtown and went the long way to Angel’s Point and back. Here are some photos I took.
